Rural graduates of Clare County are set for a Friday program in Wilson State Park Harrison on June 12 1930. Superintendent S Perry Johnson will deliver the address. A noon basket picnic and a large field meet follow with music by the Clare High School Band under George Boyd. The program includes salutatory by Phyllis Smith valedictory by Roselle Langworthy diploma presentation by Asa Aldrich and a rural yell.

Foster Hit By Auto In Lansing Near Clare Detour
Walter A. Foster of Lansing was seriously injured when his car collided with a vehicle driven by Victor Epple of Mt. Pleasant on the U S 27 detour southeast of Clare. Foster suffered a crushed arm and back injury, his wife and six year old son mildy bruised. Foster was hospitalized then sent home next day. Epple uninjured.

Fishlaw Violators Plead Guilty To Dynamiting Charge
Wilber B. Sibley 65 of Winterfield township Roscoe Bliss 25 and Carl Reed 26 both of Owosso pleaded guilty to dynamiting a stream in Callihan’s court Tuesday. Sibley placed on probation with costs 17.25 while Bliss and Reed paid 25 fine and 17.25 costs. The men, relatives by marriage, claimed they wanted fish for Sunday dinner. Officers and Sheriff Woods arrived after a neighbor reported the incident and found fish heads as the confession followed digging at the rear of the Sibley home on the Clam river bank.

Nass Insurance Case Ends in Clare Court Victory
The Nass insurance case concluded in Clare county Circuit Court with a jury award of 1083.32 dollars to Mr Nass. The two year dispute arose from a fire at his farm residence four miles north of the city, with a fire origin suspected as incendiary. An alleged release by Nass’s son appeared in trial but did not sway the verdict. The courtroom was filled during the proceedings.

Clare High School finished its baseball schedule Tuesday by beating Coleman High 11 to 2. The team had a strong season with only two losses to Ewart and Midland, then defeated those schools in the rematches. McConnell led mound work and Captain Leon Stanley excelled behind the plate. Many seniors will graduate, but promising underclassmen and a solid squad loom under Coach Alldread next year.
