Funeral services for Riley Alansing Leffingwell were held at his Clare home with Rev. J H Lockyer officiating. He was born October 3 1862 in Medina county Ohio and died leaving wife Olive and children Harriett Mina Morene. Interment followed at Cherry Grove cemetery with many relatives from Mt Pleasant Hart Shepherd Rosebush and other towns attending.

Allen R. Graham receiver for Clare County Savings Bank announces the first dividends will be available to depositors next Saturday. The payment is among the largest by state banks from own resources, reflecting cash on hand and liquidation since receivership began January 14 this year and custodianship since May 20, 1932. Rural Fire Extinguishes Gasoline Fire on Tractor
Last week Thursday forenoon the rural fire truck answered a call at Krell gorners five miles north of the city where a Hersey Gravel Go. tractor, just refilled with fifty gallons of gasoline, back fired igniting drippings on the tank. Jas Clute drove the truck and the blaze was quickly subdued, saving the tractor from serious damage. The department notes it is the only rural unit in the state to extinguish an oil well fire with water.

Old Landmarks Destroyed By Fire In Hatton July 13
Fire ravaged the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Turner and Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Hains in Hatton. The blaze damaged outbuildings including a large sheep barn and corral, with many fruit trees. Wind spreading brands forced crews to guard nearby woods while firefighters from Farwell and neighbors battled the flames. Lost carrier pigeon lands near Clare

Four Clare County Savings Bank officers were arrested in Clare by Sheriff Woods and Undersheriff Hrter after a one man grand jury probe led by Judge Ray Hart. Sutherland McGuire Anderson Douglas and McKay faced arraignment and $3000 bonds. McKay was later held in Detroit and returned for arraignment.
