Escaped Prisoner Found at Lake George
Sheriff Edmond Woods located Raymond Dean 45 who escaped Ithaca county jail last year after a auto theft sentence. He lived in a Lake George resort cottage with a woman who used the name Leona WeWitt 21. They were returned to Gratiot county. Dean will finish his sentence and the woman remains held as a witness.

A special meeting of the Northern Michigan County Road Commissioners Association was held in Cadillac with 21 counties represented. A. L. Burridge outlined federal direct aid rules as Oceana county’s admission expands the group to 33 counties. George McCabe was elected president after A. P. Peterson resigned. Burridge announced a $12,736,227 state grant plan with 25 to 50 percent allocations guiding road projects and municipal extensions.
