Clare Native Amos Huntley Dies in Tustin at 76
Amos T Huntley aged 79 died January 20 at the home of his daughter Mrs C Reger in Tustin. He was born July 11 1859 in New York and married Anna Ecker in 1878. Survived by four children, twenty seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He served Clare as alderman for several years. Funerals were held at Thurston Funeral Home.

The Michigan Mutual Windstorm Insurance Co. of Hastings convened its annual meeting on January 15. The firm, now in its 46th year, reported 1929 losses totaling 449 181.83 across 10 778 claims amid windstorms. Cash on hand stood at 368 225.88, and year end insurance in force rose to 425 389 608.38, up 37 079 042.62 from the previous year, cementing its status as the world’s second largest windstorm insurer. Frost Young Man Injured By Steel Roller
Ross Keith aged twenty was seriously injured when he was thrown from a steel roller while breaking a road through snow from the Charles Reynolds farm in Frost township to U S 27 seven miles north of Harrison. His skull was fractured and he was rushed unconscious to Reeder hospital.

After a four year illness James Grogan died at his Gilmore township home on Monday January 20. Born in Canada to Thomas and Mary O Grady Grogan he came with his family to Clare area as a child and grew among ten siblings. He married Catharine McElhaney who died in 1927, leaving two sons Charles and James to carry on the farm. He died a devoted church member and patient father with sisters Catharine Cairns and Margaret Fanell among relatives. The funeral Friday at St Cecelia church in Clare, Rev. Father Morrison officiating.
