William G May died January 30 after a stroke in Clare Michigan. He was born 1846 in Ontario and lived in Virginia and Michigan. Survived by daughter Minnie Spaulding of Portsmouth and siblings, funeral at E L Potter home conducted by Rev A P MacDonald with burial in Cherry Grove cemetery.

Committee to confer with conservation director Monday
A Clare county special committee from the Board of Supervisors and local sportsmen met in Prosecutor Holbrook's office to seek state action designating certain county lakes as pike or bass lakes. A resolution was adopted and a visiting committee will present it to the Conservation Director with plans to study bass rearing ponds at Cedar Park along the Tobacco river north of town.

Licenses Now Available At Harrison County Clerk Office
Licenses for passenger and commercial cars are now issued by the County Clerk. Applications for trailer and motorcycle licenses, drivers and chauffeurs licenses, transfer of title and certificate of title are obtainable at the Court House branch. The State Act funds a Secretary of State branch in each county seat. Delays in Harrison were due to installation of the office. The northern residents will welcome this convenience.

Colonial Supper At Church With Welfare Benefit

First Congregational Church Holds Annual Meeting
The First Congregational church met in its dining room Monday after a pot luck supper with many members present. Rev. H. B. Johnson presided as pastor for his seventh year. Trustees, finance committee, clerk, treasurer, deacons, deaconesses and music committee were elected. N A Hiden was confirmed as Sunday School superintendent. Optimism marked the session for the coming year.
