At the Clare bank meeting on January 20 1970 six directors were re elected and six new Midland directors added to the Citizens Bank and Trust Company board. New directors include Robert B Bennett Gilbert A Currie Earl H Miner Alan W Ott Richard R Todd and Dirk B Waltz. Todd Ott Miner hold top offices at Midland Chemical Bank and Trust Company and Bennett is Dow Chemical Company treasurer. LaGoe becomes President succeeding J Stuart Bicknell.

Robert W. Reed Sr aged 42 remains in Clare Osteopathic Hospital with a fractured left leg after being hit by Meri Beth Williams 18 of South Athey Road Miss Williams was driving south on McEwan as Reed crossed from West to East. Police investigate and no citations issued. This marks the third pedestrian struck at the McEwan Fitch intersection in a year per Police Chief Elry Tice.

Lake George man pleads guilty in liquor license case
