Fluoride Clinic Dates Set for Clare Area Children
Clare school nurse Mrs. Irene Davy announced a fluoride program to be offered this spring to preschoolers, kindergartners, and selected grades. Michigan Department of Public Health supervision covers four visits, with a $3 cost and dental health education included.

Late Harrison Legion cards found after mail mixup
Twenty two Harrison American Legion membership cards presumed lost were found after mail handling in Detroit. The cards, mailed with the post charter, would have cost $121 to replace. A Detroit incident led to most cards being returned to Harrison through the USPS Claims and Inquiry section.

Clare County Commission selects leadership and committees 1971
The Clare County Board met January 4 1971 in Harrison. Officers were chosen with McKenna named temporary and then chairman, Bradley and Bringold chosen for pro tem roles. Committee assignments for 1971 were approved across budget, tax apportionment, equalization, sheriff, welfare, planning, parks, and other areas. A Civil Defense Director appointment was postponed to January 18. Election committee members were named Allegra Phelipp John Hutchinson and James Babcock.
