Auto Tax Stamp Sales Expected to Open Monday

Post-office officials announce Federal automobile tax stamps will go on sale Monday in post offices statewide. The initial 2.09 tax is due by February 1 and stickers are valid until July 1, with new stamps at 5.00 per year. Every car must display one. Frank Holder Sets Taft Highway Winter Convention Plans

Frank Holder of Cincinnati, executive vice president of the Taft Highway Association, will travel to Chattanooga after a Fort Myers Beach stay. He will arrange the Taft Highway winter convention on March 16-17 with Sergeant Alvin York among speakers. He faced Justice Kyle McKinnon, was tried, found guilty, and ordered to recognize peace bonds of 1000 dollars with two sureties for two years. remanded to the sheriff until bond approval or release.

Lucky Day for Gordon Mowbray Escapes Injury in Explosion

Gordon Mowbray, manager of the Clare Road Leveler Works, narrowly escaped serious harm when an early Tuesday explosion ripped open a gasoline tank on a truck he was welding. The blast shattered fourteen windows at the plant and damaged his car in a subsequent collision with a red light violation.
