Tony Branigan, 20, of Northwest Grant, arrested on a simple larceny warrant. After grilling by Prosecuting Attorney Holbrook, he confessed and received 45 days in the county jail. Leroy Church Dies at University Hospital Ann Arbor
Leroy Church died Sunday at University Hospital in Ann Arbor after weeks as a patient. He was born in 1869, a Spanish war veteran and Rough Rider under Theodore Roosevelt. He leaves a widow, two children, a brother Clarence and sister Mrs. E C Marsh of New York City, and had lived in Ithaca area. He once owned a large cattle ranch near Clarence.

Former Clare Girl Weds Ann Arbor Student
Announcement of the marriage of Miss Mildred Reading formerly of Clare now of Ann Arbor to C J Wheeler Jr of Bay City dated February 21, 1931. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs C A Reading, attended Clare Schools before moving to Ann Arbor in 1924 and later graduated from University High School in 1929 while pursuing studies at the University of Michigan and its music school. Wheeler, son of Mr and Mrs C J Wheeler of Bay City, is an engineering student at the University of Michigan and active in student life, including Michigamua, Theta Chi, the Board in Control of Athletics, and the Student Council. He played football for three years and was named most valuable player last fall. he also appeared on the Shrine Classic football team in San Francisco. They will reside in Ann Arbor during his college education.

Fisherman John Larman Earns Master Fisherman Degree

Death of Al Crigier In Auto Crash Near Rosebush
Prominent Clare county insurance man and former sheriff Al Crigier died after his car veered into a ditch on a snowy road one mile south of Rosebush. The crash occurred about 9 30 PM as headlights failed and a neighborly rescue attempt led to further collision involving James Radey and Gardner Mitterspaugh. An inquest cleared Radey of responsibility and Crigier's death was ruled accidental. Crigier served Clare county as sheriff 1922 26 and recently became an inspector in the Michigan Secretary of State motor vehicle division. He left a wife Ida May, three children, his 84 year old mother Martha Jenkins, and brother Walter Crigier. Funeral services were held at the family home and he was interred at Cherry Grove cemetery.
