Youths Tragedy in Ithaca Claims Clare Shirley

Clare Shirley thirteen son of Mr and Mrs John Shirley of Ithaca was killed Saturday night when struck by a car driven by Albert Verette of Lansing. The accident occurred on U S 27 in Ithaca's residence district. Verette said he was going about 25 miles per hour when the boy ran in front of the car. The injured boy was taken to a physician but is believed dead on removal from the street.

Free School Clinic Planned in Clare With Sanitarium Help

Clare public schools cooperate with Battle Creek Sanitarium to hold a free clinic next Tuesday and Wednesday. Four doctors and eleven nurses will start at eight each day to examine every pupil including high school students and keep records for follow up. A public meeting and health lecture will be held Tuesday evening with music, inviting all residents to participate.

Fitzgerald of the state highway department states that based on 1929 figures the Dykstra bill cutting the auto weight tax share for cities would reduce the highway construction program by 8 418 875 dollars. Red Cross Meeting Delays Clare Chapter Officers Election
