Farmers Propose Ways to Improve Agricultural Conditions
At Fare’s Week meetings farmers urged price fixation and less government interference while pushing harder home work, better loans, lower taxes, improved product grading, and trucking regulation. N P Beebe of Niles endorsed selling quality goods with attractive packaging and strong salesmanship. Ernest A Reuhs of Caledonia lamented stagnation of farm efficiency and urged action at home. U S Felt of Sparta promoted soil improvement to cut input costs, noting greens and livestock raise farm value. A round robin on regulated beet harvests revealed split views on timing and piling, but optimism rose as M S C crops specialist C R Oviatt predicted higher prices.
