Former Farwell Boy Dies at Hurley Hospital
Melbourne K. Weible, born May 18 1905 in Farwell, died after a monthlong illness at Hurley hospital Flint on Monday January 30. Survived by wife Fern a son George two sisters Mrs Ray Butterfield Bay City and Orlie Weible Standish two nephews and many friends. Military funeral held Thursday at 2 30 pm at Standish home of his brother Orlie Weible. Weible served in the military before settling in Flint.

Material for well No 2 on the Clarence Thayer property in section 23 is hauled this week. A wildcat well was staked Monday on the Crowley estate in section 23, three miles south and one east of Clare. Drillers on the Snider No 3 Durnin No 1 Haring No 1 and Woods No 2 move to lower sand after excellent results at Brief No 2 weeks ago. Five new wells are planned within weeks as Thayer and Crowley wells begin drilling.

Mrs David Seymour dies at Montcalm home
Mrs David Seymour died at her Montcalm county home January 22 at age sixty three months three days. A Hatton township resident for nearly twenty five years she was born Lucy Laura Burlington October 11 1873 in Illinois and married David Seymour August 1891. She leaves six children twenty one grandchildren and four great grandchildren with the husband and many relatives. Funeral was January 25 at Heatrican Methodist church with Rev J Bennett. burial in Hillside cemetery.

Deer Struck By Car North of Farwell Saturday Night

Kidnapper Arrested After Mt Pleasant Abduction Attempt
Fred M. Haines accused of trying to kidnap his former wife Ruth McShea on Mt Pleasant streets. Deputy Sheriff Chas Barber detained Haines and Ray Rhule, who said they were forced at gunpoint to drive the abductors’ car. Rhule was released after McShea corroborated his account. Haines remained jailed with a gun found on him.

Popular Young Couple Married in Oxford
Miss Leda Ackerman and Dale Stough were married Sunday at Immanuel Congregational church in Oxford. Rev. H. B. Johnson performed the ring ceremony. Attendants were Wilson Saiboin and Miss Florence Ackerman. The couple resides in Flint after a wedding dinner prepared by Mrs. Milton Rogers. Ackerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Ackerman of Vernon, worked at several local businesses and then at Eming Shoe. Stough, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stough of Vernon, was a Clare High School graduate class of 1929 and works for Melton Pollock Oil Co in the Vernon field. Both are popular in Vernon and Clare with many friends.
