County Board votes lease and health unit plan summary

The Clare County Board of Supervisors met in a special session to lease Rolland property near Nester Dam for oil and gas at 1.00 per acre with an 8th oil rights reserve, paying 60 dollars rent for one year. A Tri-county Health Unit was approved 11 to 4 with Arenac and Gladwin joining, funding details totaling 18000 with state and federal contributions and local backing from the Federal Emergency Relief Administration.

New Auto Sticker Bill Becomes Permanent Law

Mrs. Fred Holt sustained painful cuts and bruises about the head and shoulders when Harley Holt lost control on an icy stretch ten miles north and east of Clara. The car skidded into a ditch and overturned. four other passengers were present but uninjured. The vehicle suffered heavy damage.

Ladies Auxiliary Hosts Meeting at Harris Home

Young Boy Fatally Wounded by Revolver Accident

Nine year old Donald Joslyn, son of Mr and Mrs James Joslyn of Arthur township, was fatally wounded when a loaded revolver discharged while playing. The bullet hit his stomach and spine. he died Tuesday at Clare hospital. Funeral services are planned at Thurston Funeral Home with Rev Albert Dawe officiating, burial in Cherry Grove cemetery.
