Clare Pioneer Marie Adams Dies in West at 73
Marie Adams born April 15 1851 in Kingston Ontario died January 16 at daughter Jennie Neelands home in Metaline Falls Washington after pneumonia. She lived as one of Clare area’s oldest residents moving from Wichita to Metaline in 1910 with husband Thomas Adams who died in 1917. Funeral January 19 followed by interment at Tone Cemetery beside husband and son.

Four Bay City youths James Anderson 19 Charles Luce 16 Frank Woods 17 and Lloyd Morse 17 are jailed after being accused of breaking into multiple Harrison businesses last Thursday night. Bertha Louise Gerber born Berlin February 6 1873 died January 20 1944 at Community Hospital Mt Pleasant Michigan aged 70 years 11 months 17 days. She married Alexander Ruthven in 1892 and Charles Gerber in 1907 having seven then one child. three daughters survive along with four grandchildren. Services January 23 at Thurston Funeral Home officiated by Rev M R Honderich with interment at Chevy Grove Cemetery.
