Harrison Chamber of Commerce planned a Christmas Eve to January 2 Mardi Gras with snow relied events. Lack of snow reduced crowds though Santa parade occurred and safaris were canceled. Snowmobile race at the fairgrounds will proceed with track prepared. $3000 was spent on insurance and setup, to be refunded if events cancel. De Clare's Mardi Gras DeSnow scheduled for Feb 18 to 27.

Two Men Die In Holiday Area Car Crashes
Two men died in separate holiday incidents. Earl Boshell 52 of Hazel Park was fatally struck when a car driven by James Bailey 43 of Madison Heights failed to stay on the road and another vehicle stopped to aid. Boshell was a passenger in the Bailey car. A Farwell man Leon E Thompson 28 died after driving into the rear of a truck driven by Harold Pifer 50 of Mt Pleasant on US 27 near Forest Hill.
