David Franklin Poet an early Sheridan township settler died December 1 after a long cancer battle at 77. Born March 22 1860 in Romulus Michigan he moved to Sheridan in 1883 with Sarah Stewart and cleared land. Survived by widow three children Clarence Grace Bergey Glenn nineteen grandchildren and brother Walter Poet burial at Cherry Grove Cemetery.

Two Men Injured in Clare County Auto Crash
Two men suffered injuries in a late Saturday collision about two and a half miles west of Clare. A. Hamilton sustained three fractured ribs while Scott Allen had a deep cut to the right wrist requiring five stitches. Both were treated at Clare County General Hospital. Frosted windshields blamed for the accident.

Inclement weather failed to deter 125 attendees at the Clare Isabella District annual Boy Scouts banquet in Evans. Weidmann was reelected president. Funeral services held at Thurston Funeral Home for Andrew Edwards known as Ted. He died Sunday December 12 at the Mulberg home in Grant township. Rev. George Stanford officiated with burial in Gilmore cemetery. Survived by wife Neva. born October 12, 1872 in Williams County Ohio. Previously resident off and on for eighteen years. worked with S. M. Callihan in Clare Gladwin and Butternut. Moved to a farm near Milbrook due to poor health.

The Everett Samborn family and visitors Mrs Spence and daughter Yvonne fell ill from gas fumes likely escaping from a gas heater. Mrs Spence drove to town to alert her father as Mrs Samborn aided Bobby then sought a doctor's help. After fresh air they recovered with no lasting effects.
