Mrs Ferris Graham Dies at Clare Home After Heart Attack
Mrs Ferris Graham of this city died Friday at the family home on East Fifth Street after a heart attack. She had asthma and heart disease for years and died after a sudden deterioration on Thursday night. Her daughter Carol Lee and two sons Richard and Russell survived with her husband, her mother, two brothers, two sisters, and other relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Thayer home with Rev. Charles B. Hahn officiating and burial in Midland Cemetery.

Twenty Two Arrested in Clare County for Game Law Violations
A total of twenty two cases were apprehended for violation of the Conservation law during the past deer season in Clare county. Twenty one of the cases have been heard and disposed of with fines totaling five hundred sixty dollars and costs of one hundred fifty seven cents. One case is still pending before Justice of the Peace Sam Wilkinson.

Clare Pioneer Fred E. Lee Dies in Owosso at 81
Fred E. Lee, 81, former Union Telephone storekeeper and long time resident of Owosso and Caledonia Township, died November 22 at 3 00 p m after a long illness. He was born April 28 1866 in St Charles to George and Mary Lee. He lived in Clare county, worked in farming, railroads and lumber, married Minnie Irwin in Clare on July 11 1893, moved to Owosso in 1914, then to Caledonia Township, retiring about ten years ago. Funeral services were held the following Wednesday at 2 30 p m at Jennings Lyons Chapel with burial in Crest Cemetery, Owosso. (Continued on Page Eight)

Ballots to elect AAA committeemen mailed to Clare County farmers
Official ballots will be mailed December 13 to all eligible farmer voters in Clare County. Farmers have until December 24 to mark and return ballots by mail or in person to the County AAA Office in Harrison. An impartial board of three will count ballots on December 26. Names of nominees for several community and county offices will appear on the ballot. The county election convention will be held December 30 in Harrison to elect the 1948 county committee. About 600 farmers are eligible to vote under the 1947 agricultural programs.

Funeral services for Anthony O'Mealey were held at St. Cecilia's Church on Saturday morning November 29 with Requiem High Mass. He died November 26 1947 at his Wise Township home of a heart attack at age 67. He was born July 6 1886 in Saginaw Michigan and married Bessie BARRUS on September 12 1909. He leaves his wife sister-in-law Lena Russell and brother-in-law Henry Russell and many relatives and friends.

Elton Sherman of Vernon City was arrested by City Police at 2 35 Friday morning on West Fourth St charged with publishing uttering and forgery following a complaint by Led Russell manager of Farmers Independent Produce Company that Sherman had given a worthless $20 note. He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Wm B Dunlop pled guilty bound over to circuit court with bond set at 600. When he failed to furnish bond he was taken to the county jail at Harrison and later released on cash bond to appear during the January term of court.
