Funeral Service for Lloyd Edick Held Here Friday
Lloyd C. Edick 59 of Clare died suddenly November 25 1947 from a coronary heart attack at home. Funeral services were held at Doherty Funeral Home with Rev Chas Kleinhardt officiating. Interment followed at Cherry Grove Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Minnie Zimmermann Edick a son Lloyd Jr and daughter Madonna Meek plus a granddaughter and siblings. He lived in Clare since 1917 and worked at several local businesses before joining the Clare County Highway Department.

Clare Fire Department was called to Dan McDonald Ford Garage Monday noon for a ceiling wiring fire. slight damage. They assisted New Artibee home Tuesday afternoon after a gas furnace explosion flooded the basement. no fire. Firefighters saved about $4,000 worth of refrigeration equipment at Lone Pine Restaurant in last week’s blaze.

Funeral services for Elwyn J. Warner were held November 28 at the Gilmore Church of Christ after a train crash death at Big Rapids on November 25 1947. Warner, 36, born Adrian Michigan, left wife Hazel Geasler and daughter Linda Sue, with his mother in Big Rapids and a brother in Gilmore Township. Interment followed in Gilmore Township Cemetery.

Seventeen Die of Gunshot in Hurting Season 1947
The 1947 hunting season gunshot toll reached seventeen with Louis Szarka of St. Louis Michigan dying in a Newberry hospital from wounds near Ecker man U P.
