Santa Claus will visit Clare on Saturday December 15 at 2 30 p m riding a trailer drawn by a fire truck to stay in the parade if the alarm sounds. Firemen plan to pack over 2000 candy and nut boxes for youngsters who will line up at the city park to receive treats and possibly win prizes.

Illness Fatal To Art Fleming Local Store Leader Dies
Arthur H. Fleming 51 a Mt. Pleasant clothing retailer and civic leader died at home after months of illness. Born in Ewart Michigan he built Art Fleming's after leading Lewis and Son and later owned the business. He served as president of Michigan Retail Clothiers and Furnishers Association and held various civic posts. He leaves a wife Max Bower Fleming and two children Nancy and Joe, plus siblings and relatives. Funeral services were held at Stinson Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant conducted by Rev. Kenneth Cutler.
