Sudden Death of Mrs. John Rockey Shocks Arthur Town
The Arthur Township community was shocked Sunday night by the death of Mrs. John Rockey. Despite poor health she remained active until a fatal heart attack ended her life. A resident of Arthur for twenty years she was described as a loyal neighbor with a large circle of friends. The funeral was held at Arthur town hall Thursday. Obituary will appear later.

Finder’s Keepers Warn Passerby After Salt Bag Lost
Workmen from the Clare County Road Commission toiled near Nellie Reynolds farm in Grant township when a bag of road salt was left beside the highway. A passerby picked up the bag and vanished. Authorities warn the public that the substance is a deadly poison with no use beyond its intended purpose and urge bringing it to the County Garage in Clare.

Sheridan Farm Home Saved From Burning
Clarence Cotton's farm home in Sheridan township caught fire last Friday around 11 00 pm originated in an upstairs store room. Clare rural fire truck reached the scene through dense fog as neighbors maintained a bucket brigade. Only furniture damage and about 25 dollars in property loss occurred.

Edward A White passes peacefully away after four score active years
The Clare Sentinel notes the sudden death of Edward A White on November 16 after a night of chest pain. He would have turned 80 next March 3. He ran a small shop, enjoyed a 3500 mile north trip, and planned to visit Clare next summer with his wife. Funeral was held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Kddewater cemetery New Smyrna.

Three Flint Men Pay Dearly for Destroying Sign

Mrs Henry Severson Dies at Saginaw Hospital
Mrs. Henry Severson of Clare and Flint died November 27 at Saginaw hospital after three months illness. Beulah Lamphere, born August 3 1903 at Herrick, wife of Henry Severson, died at age 34 years 3 months 24 days. Burial at Cherry Grove after services at Herrick church. surviving husband two children Ida Joe and Darwin, parents Frank and (lineage) Lamphere, sister Marion Seibt, and many relatives.

Judge Hart presides over an adjourned Clare County Circuit Court session in Harrison with three jury trials on the calendar plus chancery and non jury matters. Fear of gas short age allayed by pipe line hook up
Clare and Mt Pleasant residents escaped a gas shortage as a 14 mile line from the Broomfield field was connected to Mt Pleasant using nearly 200 pipeliners. The tie will enable 100 million cubic feet daily to flow from Consumers Power Co loan and may include casing head gas from Sherman township.
