Chrome Numbers on White Boats Violating Act Warned
Coast Guard officials in the Ninth District warned that chromium numbers on white boat hulls fail to meet the federal Numbering Act. The law requires numbers on both bows in letters at least three inches high and in contrasting colors, applicable to motorboats over 16 feet with detachable motors and all inboard boats on the Great Lakes. Violations are federal offenses with fines.
