Buck Hickey Hit By Car and Hospitalized in Clare
Clare handyman Francis Robert Buck Hickey, 61, was struck while crossing Fifth Street by a car driven by Donald R Bowen 32 of rural QClars. Hickey suffered facial cuts and possible internal injuries and was moved to Saginaw Veterans Hospital after initial treatment at Clare General. Police action pending.

Tragic Bicycle Accident Claims Rosebush Boy Ronald Stork
Ronald Stork, 13, of Rosebush died after a car struck his bicycle on US-27 near Rosebush Friday morning. He was an 8th grader at Rosebush Rural Agricultural School and active in 4-H and Boy Scouts. Funeral services were held at Mt Pleas ant Stinson Funeral Home.

Michigan Consolidated Gas Company plans to start adding heating customers in the Mt. Pleasant district and Clare area once the Federal Power Commission approves. About 418 heating customers will be added, with 323 in this district eligible from applications prior to June 15, 1953, and remaining permits for new homes. Beaverton Medical Center Plan Moves Ahead
At a Beaverton Community Council meeting on August 16 the planning committee presented a report on progress toward a proposed Community Medical Center. A non profit corporation has formed to raise funds for a building for two doctors, lab, X ray, surgery rooms, and offices on West Brown Street near highway M-18. Nineteen stock purchasers have paid 114 shares at 10 dollars each, with 15 thousand dollars capitalized and 1500 shares authorized.
