High Moisture Corn Silage Boosts Dairy Gains, Michigan Study

They tested 25 to 40 percent moisture, used preservatives, and noted better gains with powdered limestone and ammonium phosphate. protein rose with urea but palatability fell above 15 pounds per ton. The method aids farmers in short growing seasons and weather constraints, with fully mechanized handling from field to feed.
