Clare County district promotes first special education director

Jack Raymond is promoted to Director of Special Education at Clare County Intermediate School District with 10 specialists and 9 paraprofessionals. US-10 relocation plans advance in Clare County

The Michigan Department of State Highways announces right of way acquisitions for relocating 843 miles of US-10 in Clare County. 105 parcels including 21 residences will be needed for a four lane freeway standard route linking I-75, 3.5 miles north of Clare, to M-115.

Clare City Dump Closure Sought Within Sixty Days

The Clare City Commission heard that the Michigan Department of Public Health may close the city dump within 60 days after a final warning citing improper waste management. State official Larry Thornton warned no license will be issued until corrective actions are taken, while City Manager Glen Cain outlined plans to address solid waste problems.

Annual Stag Day set for Twin Elms

The Clare Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Stag Day at Twin Elms Golf Club on Thursday with 9 a.m. tee times. An 8 dollar entry covers 18 holes, green fees, door and golf prizes, plus a dinner. special prizes include a Sunfish sailboat and cash awards of 50 and 25 dollars. Participants form their own foursomes as part of the event.
