Michigan Counties Certified Free of Brucellosis Battle Progresses
Fifty three of Michigan's eighty three counties are certified as modified brucellosis free after a joint effort by the Michigan and U S Departments of Agriculture. The program tested about 900000 cattle across over 50000 herds with milk ring tests and blood tests. The goal is to certify the entire state by 1958 as the disease drops to under one percent of cattle.
