Evangelist Virgil Felton to lead Gilmore Church revival
The Gilmore Church of Christ hosts Virgil Felton of New Churches of Christ Evangelism for a five night fire service meeting August 14 to 18 starting at 8 p.m. Felton aims to enlist supporters to fund a new University Christian Church in East Lansing Michigan. Homecoming Sunday August 18 features a 1 p.m. pot lunch and 2 30 p.m. service concluding the revival. Public invited.

Foresters Win Battle With Sawfly on Pigeon River Forest
State foresters secured near complete control of the red headed pine sawfly on a 1700 acre section of Pigeon River state forest in Antrim county. A private spraying team used DDT and oil over three days, yielding almost 100 percent kill and saving heavily damaged jack and red pine plantations that had suffered 70 percent losses on one tract.
