Thirty Young People Pass Life Saving Test in Trial
Thirty youths completed a life saving course conducted by O. R. club of camp Rotary at Harrison with instructors Edwin J. Zacharias Walter B. Crege and Wallace Mead. The class, divided into three groups, passed final exams with high honors on July 23. Emblems awarded August 7 at Camp Rotary Otary Lake amid praise from Boy Scouts and Rotary guests.

Brown Corners Extension Group held a July meeting at Carrie Green's home with twelve members in their second year. The group, led by Bertha Cradit, studied measuring and checking for patterns while Harrison hosts future Thursday sessions. William F Dodge Succumbs Suddenly in Owosso Home
The body of William F. Dodge was brought from near Owosso after dying suddenly Wednesday afternoon. Born August 22, 1867 in New York, he moved to Clare as a child then to Owosso three years ago. He married Louisa Hodgins in 1889. she died ten months ago. Surviving are four children Ralph, Florerice Robinson, Ira, and one infant who died, plus five grandchildren and a sister Mrs Geo Seymour of New York. Funeral held Saturday at Dan Crouse’s home with Rev. W. W. Hurd officiating.

Rosebush Mourns John Young Johnston Pioneer and Prohibitionist
John Young Johnston a Rosebush resident and longtime Prohibition party leader died after months of illness at age 73. Born December 31 1857 in Peel County Ontario he settled near Rosebush Michigan in 1883 after marrying Mary Jane Steele and clearing and building a farm. He was active in church temperance politics and community service including Center Methodist Church and a Holiness denomination. Funeral held August 12 at the Christian Standard church in Rosebush with Rev Norman Wager in charge.
