Three boys aged 15 16 and 17 wrecked the Lincoln Township school at Lake George while seeking scrap iron. A resident spotted the car and alerted police leading to the boys’ detention in Farwell. Damages ranged about 60 to 75 dollars. a broad axe and hammer were used in the vandalism.

Mary Etta Stevens Brown born October 26 1870 in Springhill Bradford County Pennsylvania died July 30 at the Nursing Home in Ewart after a long illness at 83. Longtime Farwell resident taught school served as librarian and correspondent, member of Eastern Star United States oldest Relief Corps member. Survived by daughter Marie Robbins and son Milton Stevens with four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral Monday August 2 at Coker Funeral Home Rev Leslie Nevins officiating burial Surrey Township cemetery.

Police report a beer bottle shattered the plate glass front of Van's Upholstering and Furniture Co at 615 W St Street around 12 30 am Tuesday. Miss Laura O Grady age sixty six died at her home 209 Montclair Street Detroit on August 8. Born in Vernon township she is survived by two sisters Miss Rose O Grady and Mrs Dan Judge a brother Leo O Grady of Clare. Rosary held at Mt Pleasant home then Soltéan Requiem High Mass at Sacred Heart Church and Calvary Cemetery burial. She formerly worked at the Davy Store before moving to Detroit.
