Twelfth Annual Meeting of Local Star District Held
About two hundred members gathered in Farwell for the twelfth annual Clare Gladwin and Midland district association Order of the Eastern Star meeting. Officers elected include President Minnie Brown, Vice President J W Leininger, Secretary Olive Weidner, Treasurer Frank Hieniohr, with Marianna officers from several chapters attending the session. The program featured remarks by Worthy Grand Matron Elizabeth Webster and a School of Instruction by Elizabeth Webster, with a closing reception and refreshments.

Walton Family Meet at Saginaw Bliss Park Reunion
Walton family reunion held at Bliss Park Saginaw with about sixty attendees from Coleman Clare Marion St Louis Lansing Danesville Flint Detroit Canada and Sag inaw. A noon potluck dinner featured Olive Watton as head chef and young men as servers. Four deaths and one birth reported among relatives. A wedding of Valera Walton Windsor Ont to Charles Baker Marion Ohio noted. Election of officers selected Esther Dafoe Minnie Johnson Jessie Kelly and Dale McCauley. Social time and ice cream closed the day.

Clare men bound to circuit court for larceny
Orin Ward and Charles Williams were bound over to Clare county circuit court on a larceny from the person charge. Dee Carrier allegedly had a pint of moonshine in the prosecutor's outer office. Ward and Williams joined a struggle and the bottle was taken and spilled. Both defendants released on two thousand dollar bonds.

Mrs. Dora Stockman of the Michigan State Grange spoke at the Clare-Isabela Granges picnic in Presley grove east of Clare about modern farm methods. She praised cooperative shipping and threshing outfits, urged farmers to form organizations, and highlighted Grange accomplishments. The event featured recitations, music, races, a Mt. Vernon vs Advance ball game, and a large old time dance after a noon basket dinner.
