The Mammoth Oil Corp. struck Michigan’s largest oil well last Thursday near Glare on the Verette lease four miles south and one east of Glare. The test showed 210 barrels every sixteen minutes, about 19 000 barrels a day, with expected long term flow near 10 000 barrels. Officials plan deeper drilling for greater output while gas and oil fog filled the area necessitating police patrols.
