Largest oil well in state drilled south of Clare

The Mammoth Oil Corp. struck Michigan’s largest oil well last Thursday near Glare on the Verette lease four miles south and one east of Glare. The test showed 210 barrels every sixteen minutes, about 19 000 barrels a day, with expected long term flow near 10 000 barrels. Officials plan deeper drilling for greater output while gas and oil fog filled the area necessitating police patrols.

Miss Ruth Bradley Weds Arthur Ulrich in Clare

The marriage of Miss Ruth Bradley daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Bradley of Him Grove and Arthur Ulrich son of Mr and Mrs Aiguat Ulrich of Clare took place Thursday evening August 3 at the Church of God par sonage Eagle officiated by Elder M R Hendrick. The couple left for a short wedding trip to Detroit then will reside with Ulrichs on Sixth street until permanent quarters are arranged. Zenobia Chapter Elects Delegates to G M Meeting

Zenobia Chapter No 129 Order of the Eastern Star held its August meeting electing delegates and officers for the Clare Gladwin Midland District Association to be held in Gladwin on August 31. Sheriff Traces Moonshine Still by Following Smoke
