A new weights and measures statute, effective August 28, requires pre packaged items in retail to show price per unit linked to actual net weight. The Foods and Standards Division led by J L Littlefield enforces clear net contents on main labels to protect consumers, especially for catch weight items like meat cheese and some fruits and vegetables.
The Rosebush Farm Bureau met at the Haggar home with seven families present. Officers reported, and James Callihan led a market solutions discussion.
