The Loomis Missionary Church will hold a groundbreaking Sunday April 29 at 11 15 for a new building on Old US 10 Loomis. Occupancy is planned for late fall. The current church was built in 1935 by Rev J Wesley Teale who started the work. Rev E J Belella is the present pastor leading the ceremony. The public is invited.

Clare Post Office dispatches mail earlier from April 30
Clare Postmaster Larry Jack announced that starting April 30 mail will be dispatched from the Clare Post Office at 11 00 a m an advance of about one hour. Mail must be at the post office by 10 30 a m to allow clerks to sort and bag before the 11 00 a m truck departure. The schedule change aims to speed deliveries as far south as Columbus Ohio with next day service for first class mail.
