Vernon Hill and Devere Schoonover family members spent weekends visiting relatives in Saginaw and Morrison. Many local residents and guests appear in a sprawling social notes listing outings, calls, dinners, and hospitalities across Vernon, Farwell, Coleman, and surrounding towns.
Mona Waggoner of Cader Lake called Friday and Saturday on her grandparents Mr and Mrs Chas Waggoner and Mrs William Gillen of Flint and Mrs Carl Brown of Gladwin. Mrs Rudy Knispe formerly of Gladwin now of Mint is very ill at Hurley hospital in Flint. David Teale spent Sunday with his brother Jamies Teale and family at Colonville.
West Freeman Mrs Hlgh Hickok has cared for Mrs Neil Strait's children this past week. Mrs Thomas Cook helped Mrs Reed with papering Wednesday. Mr and Mrs Herbert Setering of Heart visited sister Mrs Clarence Cook family Sunday. Mr and Mrs Thomas Cook visited brother Jud Price and family and mother Mrs H Coke near Sears. Helen Alfred and George Gaffney were home Sunday. Mrs Thos Cook called on Mrs Higin Hickok Monday. John Gaffney was an Evart caller Monday. Herbert Middleton visited Elgin Hickok Sunday morning.
A West Grant school gathering formed the West Grant Parent and Teachers Association with Mrs. Floyd Skinner as president and Mrs. Seeley Johnson as vice president. Officer slate also includes Secretary Treasurer Avery Barber and Historian George. Next meeting set for May 6 with a pot luck lunch.
Ernest Kennedy returned home Thursday after hospital care and shows improved health. Frank Davis and Frances visited McBain and Ann Arbor, while Simon Vander Woude and family visited Vegal Center and Cadillac. Clinton Foster and family joined relatives at Clinton Foster home near Marion for a family dinner. several men worked on the telephone line. Verna Kennedy visited relatives in Clare last week.

Claire Walters and Jim Grover of Portland visited their parents over the weekend. Frances Gordon of the Brand stayed with grandmother Mrs Henry Mickle. Bernard Kirkpatrick of Clare visited parents Mr and Mrs Chas Fitzpatrick. Glen Gordon of the Brand visited his parents Mr and Mrs Henry Mickle Saturday. Lyie Heid of A of M spends spring vacation at home. Stamey Kiemer of Eagle visited Floyd Allen Saturday evening. Frank Nash of Clare visited Everette Allen Monday. Ernest Radloft and Mrs Hisie Pillsbury visited his sister Mrs Lacey Rank. Ray Houghton and Barbara attended the declamation and ovation contest at Clare High School Friday night. Dover pupils enjoyed a day off Monday while teacher Mrs Deller attended institute at Farwell. Noralee Mickie of the Brown spent Sunday with grandmother Mrs HH Mickie.
