Greenhouses From Plastic Sheeting
Plastic sheeting sold by foot or yard at garden stores or lumber yards enables beginners to start seeds indoors. DIY gardeners can build inexpensive lean-tos around basement windows or use a pup-tent cover to create light and heat. Plastic over wooden frames provides a cheaper alternative to glass for cold frames and hot beds and can last several years with reasonable care.
