On April 2 1947 employees of Consumers Power Company's Central Michigan Division who completed five years of service in 1946 were honored at a dinner at the Granger Restaurant in Alma. D A Karn and H S Richmond spoke for the company with H L Ziegenbein acting as master of ceremonies and Alma College Music Department providing entertainment. Lily Parade Aids Crippled Children Saturday Effort
The Lily Parade for the Crippled Children's Society was held Saturday by Trqopill Girl Scouts under Mrs. Jack Cook. Born March 29 1860 in Flushing Genesee County Michigan she married Samuel Peter Dowd Feb 8 1880 and had two sons Montie E and Samuel T. Funeral services were held at the Thurston Funeral Home Saturday at 2:00 pm with interment in Cherry Grove cemetery.

Lansing Man Arrested After Restaurant Revolver Incident
Chas W Otto Jr 27 of Lansing was seen with a .38 revolver after a Dunlop Cafe shootout and fled in a 1941 Plymouth. Mt Pleasant officers traced the car on South Mission Street, Ott o was found at a Mt. Pleasant restaurant and jailed. He waived examination and was bound over to Circuit Court for May term on concealed weapon and careless use of firearms charges with $250 bond.
