Clare City Manager Glen Cain reminds residents to keep leaves grass and litter out of streets during lawn and garden cleanup He asks that trash be placed in boxes or bags between sidewalk and curb for city pickup regardless of subscription He notes a later Clean Up Week in May for bulky items.
Charles Clark won the two year commission seat with 241 votes to 183 for Fritz Allen and 170 for Robert Walters. Incumbents Allen and Walters were re elected to three and two year terms respectively, with precint totals 181 and 143. Ray Owens fell short and Philip Breen trailed. The final tally reached 324 votes as counting continued into the day. The commission will declare the results official and swear in the winners at its next meeting. Mayor Willard Koch and Richard Stocker will serve as holdovers.

An Easter Egg Hunt held Saturday afternoon March 29 by the Jaycee Auxiliary drew mothers fathers and children in cold weather. Ages two through ten competed with prizes awarded for first second and third in each group. Health clinics for children will be held in Clare county in April. On the 14th at Harrison from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and on the 21st at City Hall in Clare from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
