Golden Eagle Rehabilitated and Released in Michigan
A rare golden eagle, found near Perry with ice on its wings, was brought to Rose Lake Wildlife Research Laboratory. Biologist Keith Heezen cleared it for release after a health check showed the bird was weak but sound, correcting initial misidentification as a bald eagle. The species, protected by federal law, winters in the western United States and faces strict protections to safeguard young eagles.
