Speculation rises as gendarmes flood Brest and the League of the French Fatherland treasurer lands in city stirring anti Dreyfus demonstrations.

The dedication of St Marys Church occurred in Piqua Ohio today led by Rev Father Mackey of Cincinnati with twenty priests. Residents and visitors from nearby towns joined in a late afternoon parade organized by several Catholic groups.
Upper Sandusky Ohio June 25 Charley Woesner a Company B veteran of the Spanish American War now living at Belle Vernon was struck by a pitched ball during a game. He was treated after arriving in town and doctors reported two broken ribs and one cracked rib.
Lexington reports the thirteenth annual Kentucky Chautauqua Assembly starts Tuesday at Woodland Park. Dr. W L Davidson will inaugurate the event, with many tents set and campers expected to exceed last year’s turnout.
A north windstorm struck Bradley Nebraska early today causing extensive damage. A two story brick block housing a drug store and a general merchandise store was wrecked with a $10 000 loss. Floyd A. Watherrill was injured. The Post Office and Corliss' store suffered major damage along with homes and barns. Ground was torn up and livestock killed.
Bellaire Trades Assembly lifts boycott on Bellaire Bridgeport and Martins Ferry Electric Street Car line. Cars run this evening after eight weeks shutdown by Ohio Valley Trades Assembly of Wheeling. Workers on the line earned seventeen and a half cents per hour. Public here expresses general satisfaction.
In Richmond on June 25 it was reported that about half of the 1000 girls at the Whitelock branch of the American Tobacco Company may return to work tomorrow. A committee of ministers is seeking a settlement and the girls have formed a canvassing committee to organize.
A single violence incident marked the return of Consolidated Street Railway services in Cleveland. A crowd opposed nonunion workers near Brooklyn Bridge forced passengers to wait for union crews. a nonunion conductor was struck and driven off after arguing. Union crews then moved the car to the barns.
In a Columbus letter to a friend Toledo Mayor S M Jones says he stands ready to run as an independent for governor. He favors educating the state over campaigning and claims party machines burden liberty and hinder progress. The letter is published with Jones's permission.
Frank Connolly once treasurer of the Thomas W. Keene Dramatic Company reappears in St Louis after vanishing from McVicker's Theater Chicago in 1898. He recalls supper with a Pittsburg woman, then awoke two weeks later in a Mattoon Illinois freight car with $400 gone and jewelry missing. He survived illness from being drugged, later worked as war correspondent in Cuba. An old friend recognized him here.
In Parkersburg West Virginia on June 2 a tramp attacked 12 year old Jay McClung near Adamsstown. After a chase shots were fired as the man fled into Elk Creek where 15 year old Yallie Boughner killed him. The body was identified as E. A. Young son of Stillman Young Buckhannon. No arrests yet pending inquest.
The second annual Central Schuetzen bund meeting in Dubuque Iowa closed with a band concert a prize ceremony and a picnic drawing about eight thousand attendees J E Schmidt of Milwaukee was crowned King of the Fest receiving the championship gold medal diploma and cash prize. 96 gold medals were awarded for 200 point scores and total prizes reached 5300 with 3800 in cash.

In Columbus on June 2 the attempt to close Olentangy Park the summer resort seen as abandoned after failure to convict managers or performers for two Sundays exhibitions.
