Bonds Recovered From Rondout Robbery Found Near Little Rock

Robbery bandits shoot grocer in Indiana village
Wilber Starling a 35 year old grocer of Raymond Indiana was shot in the abdomen during an attempted cash register robbery at his store. Witness Dalton Breece 15 said three men arrived by automobile and a leader fired as Starling wrestled the gunman. The other two fled as the lead man jumped onto the car and sped eastward toward Oxford Brookville highway. At midnight an automobile traveling about sixty mph crashed into a trolley pole on the Gilbert avenue viaduct. Charles Wehage 43 suffered a fractured skull while David White 41 had head and face cuts. The car was wrecked and pole base shattered, witnesses said. Wehage is fatally injured, White not seriously hurt. Streetcars were halted for 15 minutes. The pole is known as Dead Man's Pole due to past crashes.
