Verona Rothmann a Dayton Ontario teenager told St. Louis police she ran away to pursue stage work to avoid burdening her bankrupt father. She described being lured by Clarence Jones to Columbus Middletown and Cincinnati, then assaulted and confined before becoming a burlesque chorus girl. Police will return her to Bernard Rothmann Weakley Avenue Dayton where he has sought her since September 13.
In LaPorte Indiana Percy Reed aged 20 will meet his father James Reed for the first time tomorrow. The father vanished before the son’s birth and was believed dead. The son, now a prospering farmer and family head, received a letter from Bloomington Illinois seeking to visit. Grandchildren await the reunion. The mother died twenty years ago. The reason for the disappearance remains unknown.
New York November 12 An alleged dynamite plot by striking mail wagon drivers was uncovered as seven union officers were arrested on federal warrants. The discovery followed two sticks of dynamite found at the union headquarters. Louis Terry union president and Ide Cassidy vice president are among those arrested. Arthur Windham dispatcher testified he found the explosives in a closet two weeks earlier. Indictments allege the plot aimed to blow up mail wagons and the Postal Transfer Company garage.

Louis Bloom proprietor of the Honing Hotel surrendered after two indictments accused him of permitting gambling rooms and runnings of high stakes poker with takesoffs.
