On a rain soaked field at Chateau last Friday night, the Conrad Cowboys overwhelmed the Fairfield Eagles 27 to 6 to open the season. The score was tied 6 to 6 after the first quarter before Conrad pulled away in the final two and a half quarters behind a strong line and quick backfield.

The Northern division Class B season opened with eight teams. St. Marys Mustangs routed Chateau 33 to 0, Conrad beat Fairfield 27 to 6, Cut Bank defeated Fort Benton 25 to 0, and Chinook and Shelby tied 12 all.

Rev McKnight of Moore performed the double ring ceremony with relatives present. Attendants were LaVern Frantzich Leslie Carlson Lois Steele and Meta Jenni. A reception for about 85 guests followed. The couple will live in Great Falls where he works for Bison Motor Co.
