Crop Fire Extinguished Near Pendroy By Neighbor Help
A 200 acre field fire on the Wagner Halverson farm near Pendroy was halted Tuesday as neighbors and the county rural-fire unit under Sheriff Al Peterson fought the blaze. Winter wheat was saved though much grassland burned. barley had been swathed and threshing already done. The Halversons thanked all who helped.

Odenwald Dies After Somers Lumber Yard Cave-In
Charles C. Odenwald eighty three year old engineer for Somers Lumber Co. died after a fuel pile caved in on him and coworker George Rhoades in Somers Montana. Rhoades escaped with back injuries and both men were trapped briefly before rescue.
