Bridge Advances In Route To California From Glacier
The Idaho Montana highway project nears a major hurdle as a 400 foot bridge over a deep canyon near Pleasant Valley Idaho awaits completion by federal engineers. State official James H Rowe says construction could miss this fall. The short line through the canyon will be traversable once the bridge is finished easing winter closures from drifting snow on a horseshoe curve. Idaho and Montana officials meet to keep Monida pass open if possible as three contractors finish surfacing from Spencer to the Montana line and oiling proceeds to Spencer.
