First Cattle of Oregon Are Sold by Ward and O Connell
The first cattle of the season from Chateau shipped Tuesday on the Great Northern. Vincent Ward and B D O Connell led the export with two and one carloads respectively to Minnesota and Chicago. O Connell bought lambs from Bynum area suppliers as part of a multiple shipment with Cole Parham and others. Dr B O Fisher and FE B Duncan assisted as stock inspectors and ext agents accompanied by farm officials visiting the Chicago fair.

J E Byrne purchased the notable Chateau building from C S McDonald on Main Avenue between Division and First Streets. The structure has housed J G Bair’s upstairs law office and later the public library, with the downstairs used for various businesses including Byrne’s plumbing shop since 1929. Byrne plans roof repairs and a four room upstairs apartment for his home.

Well Known Pendroy Store Changes Hands
Joe Fallon and son Bob announced the sale of the Pendroy general mercantile to George and Mrs. George Sprinkle. The deal closed last week with possession Monday. Mrs Sprinkle previously ran a Pendroy store as Genevieve Friend. Mr Sprinkle is a rancher and sheep shearer in Teton County. Fallon plans to continue selling automobiles for now. Eckel remains in Shelby in the automobile and garage business.

Teton communities organize under federal wheat allotment plan
The first permanent community organization formed in Teton county met at Pendroy Tuesday to select a committee led by Ira Ritenour and to join the wheat production control association. Similar setups followed in Bynum Agawam and Farmington with named chairmen and directors. Additional meetings planned through Saturday with Chateau finalizing next Monday at 2 pm.

Spawn Taking Station Feasibility Discussed at Pishkun
Kenneth McDonald and W M Rush met with Teton County Sportsmen's Association officials to inspect the Pishkun reservoir for a possible spawn taking station. George Coffey said officials were impressed with the project and noted that 60,000 bass were planted in Splitrock key last week.

Former Chateau Matron Maude Waldo Dies at Whitehall
Telegraphic notice from Mrs. Otis Mellon reports the death of Maude Waldo wife of Henry Waldo at Whitehall. The Waldos homesteaded in Spring Valley around 1910 then moved to Chateau and later to the Helm place. They left about 1918 and joined the Security Benefit lodge, with continued membership. Burial details were not learned.

Remains of Mrs Wilhelmina Beitlich Interred Here
Mrs Wilhelmina Beitlich died in Minneapolis after chronic myocarditis at age 72. Born June 5 1860 at La Crosse Wisconsin she lived with her daughter in Minneapolis the last decade. She leaves four daughters a son a brother a sister 23 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Interment at Chateau cemetery followed a service led by Rev Edwin Dover and attended by pallbearers including Senator T O Larson and Dr H W Bateman.
