Social Security Aids Town Economies
Ray Pedersen, district manager of the Great Falls SSA, says Social Security benefits bolster local economies. In December 1961 Montana paid over four million dollars monthly, with over 50 million in 1961 statewide, while national averages rose to 75.65 and 76.43 in Montana. Increased eligibility at age 62 and more aged beneficiaries drive the rise.
