Graduation Exercises Set for Chateau Elementary Monday
Chateau Elementary School will hold eighth grade graduation Monday at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. C Gibson Monkman will give the commencement address, Rev. C Fred Crowe the invocation and benediction, and Glen Stoudt will present diplomas. A postceremony picture at the Roxy Theatre and refreshments follow. High School Rodeo Set for June in Choteau

William Alzheimer of Montana State College, senior in civil engineering, won a $1,000 American Society of Civil Engineers scholarship as one of four nationwide recipients. Omholt Named State Auditor Succeeding Holmes
Elmer V. Sonny Ombholt 42 and mayor of Dutton was appointed Montana state auditor to succeed the late John J. Holmes. He will serve until Jan. 7, 1963. Ombholt is a Republican with prior service in the Montana House and as district commander of The American Legion. He will oversee insurance, investments and fire marshal duties.

Former Doctor Dies At Summer Home
Dr. James Charles MacGregor, 79, co founder of the North Montana Clinic and former Choteau physician, died Saturday night at his Cascade area summer home. Born December 23, 1882 in Davenport Iowa he attended the University of Iowa and began practice in Choteau before 1918. He moved to Great Falls in 1918 to establish the clinic and retired about eight years ago. He is survived by his widow Ethel two daughters Mrs James MacFarland Minneapolis and Mrs Re Loftus Los Gatos California two grandchildren a brother Dr H J MacGregor Great Falls a sister Mrs Ned Alderice Davenport and another brother Robert Brunswick.

Choteau Athletes Set for 56th Interscholastic Meet
Thirteen Choteau High School athletes will compete in the 56th annual Interscholastic Friday and Saturday May 25 and 26 on the Montana State University Missoula campus. About 1,500 Montana students attend, with divisions in events, sports, drama and speech. Choteau earned its spot by placing in the Northern Clim b divisional meet in Fairfield, led by Tom Boyle and Gary Dunckel among others, with multiple athletes in track field and golf events and a relay team set to race in Missoula.

Chateau voters decide in a special election June 18 on purchasing a new fire truck over $ three years. Registration closes June 1 at the county clerk. If approved, the city buys the truck for about $17 000. Polls open 12 noon to 8 p m at Legion hall and city hall.

Power Outage Hits Choteau After Javelin Incident
A small section of Choteau lost power for about an hour and a half when a broken javelin struck a power line behind the Lutheran Church. Live wires burned in an alley until Montana Power workers restored service. Firefighters stood by and were alerted by telephone after the fire siren failed. A juvenile was reported to have thrown the javelin to strike a bird on the wire. Harold Bouma and Ernie Dale were nearby when the line dropped to the ground.

The Montana Junior Olympics will be held in Choteau June 1 and 2 with many participants and parents expected to stay in town. Commission Grants Fishing Access at Duck Lake Standoff
The commission approved limited fishing at Duck Lake but warned anglers they are on their own regarding enforcement.
