Flag Contest Here Saturday Attracts Many Pupils
Twenty eight pupils from eleven schools competed in the annual flag contest sponsored by the state department of education and the American Legion auxiliary. Winners include Rachel Gitchel and Joel Olson. Yvonne Cathcart won in the lower grades, with Leslie Reiquam also a top scorer. Prizes were coin purses and bill folds.

Infant Daughter Stricken by Ptomaine Poisoning
The infant daughter of Dr and Mrs R T ONeill was poisoned Monday afternoon while playing at the Paulus home. She convulsed after rolling from a sofa and was treated by Dr H W Bateman. She was in serious condition but is now out of danger and investigators suspect canned tomatoes as the source.

Scout Drive Funds Tailor Local Boy Scout Work

Heavy rain snow and mud hampered only a partial triangular meet held last Saturday. Teton led with 54 points to Power’s 23 as Dutton failed to place. Hoff man and Yeager starred for Power. Gitchel Kremer and Connole led Teton in multiple events. overall times and distances were below normal due to the track's poor condition.

Sportsmen to Meet for County Wide Association
A county wide sportsmen and outdoor life meeting is set for Tuesday May 16 at 7 p m in the court house. The plan is to absorb the Chateau Rod and Gun club and other clubs to form a larger organization with a 12 member executive committee. A report on fishing at Pishkun reservoir will be presented and the open season for fishing is urged to align with the general season.

Food study to be continued in Teton county
The home demonstration council of Teton county voted to extend the foods study for another year with Miss Blanche Lee of Montana State College to lead. Teton Youths Win Honors At State College
Teton county high sent its students to the state Future Farmers of America events at Montana State College last week. Billy Jones was elected state FFA secretary and placed second in public speaking. Wear Stott ranked high in grain judging and potatoes, while Forrest Zion earned second in rope work. The group will compete at a regional meet in Salt Lake for a $500 first prize.

The local forest office completed a extensive timber survey of the Teton district in the Lewis and Clark national forest. The 462000 acre district shows 1500000 feet of saw timber on Birch creek north fork, 10000000 on west fork of north fork Teton river, and 4000000 on Waldron creek. Fire salvage on Waldron creek 1931 is led by Nels Stimgrimson, with lumber sold locally.

Charles LePage, longtime Choteau figure and frontiersman, died Monday afternoon at about 5 o'clock in his Connor building room. He aged 87 and had been ill a year. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church with Rev. Dover officiating, interment in Chateau cemetery.
