Blowing Snow Halts Teton County Roads Amid Storm Forecast
Snow drifts and blowing snow block roads across Teton County as a winter storm nears. Hay scarcity drives prices to a record fifty dollars a ton locally while northern Teton hay moves to Sun River districts. Ranchers in Cascade purchase much of the former Teton supply, Henry Lease of Fairfield buys North Dakota hay at forty five dollars a ton, quality unconfirmed. If stock runs short, substitutes help but costly. Snow remains high along the Dutton road, eight feet in places, likely persisting into May.
