Early Methodist History in and Near Choteau
The 50th anniversary of the Choteau Methodist church highlights early North Montana missions. Rev. W. W. Van Orsdel preached to Choteau Indians in 1872, a cabin service amid hostiles, and a later 1894 effort built church and parsonage. A list of pastors from 1890 to 1932 is provided, with notes on community events and a widow’s funeral.
