The District of Chetwynd joins over 400 municipalities in declaring September 24th 1995 B C River's Day. Deputy Mayor Gloria Clark signs the declaration promoting rivers' economic environmental and recreational value and their role in provincial discovery.
The 1995 1996 school year sees 1318 students enrolled in Chetwynd area schools up from 1262 last year. Mike Downey of School District 59 notes consistent increases and says provincial funding is adjusted accordingly. Northern Lights College reports strong overall enrollment with some full courses and expects official figures in October.
